About GeonGangMi
What is GeonGangMi?
GeonGangMi is a beauty and wellness brand operated by GeonGangMi (M) Sdn Bhd in Malaysia. We develop clinically clean skincare and wellness formulas — gentle, brightening, non-stripping — and sell them directly to customers through this website and our stores. Every formula is built around what we deliberately leave out.
What does “clinically clean” mean at GeonGangMi?
Three things, applied to every product we sell:
- A deliberately short, honest ingredient list. Actives that are proven and used at meaningful levels — and none of the ten ingredient families we refuse to formulate with.
- Formulated for the skin barrier. Our products are designed to cleanse and treat without stripping, so skin does not feel tight, reactive or dry afterwards.
- Transparency. Full ingredient lists on the product page and on the pack, so you always know what you are putting on your skin and where the product came from.
Where do I buy GeonGangMi products, and do I need an account?
You can buy here on GeonGangMi.com, or in person at our stores. Membership is free: create an account to shop the full range, follow every order and collect rewards on what you buy. Your order history and tracking live in your account.
What rewards do members collect?
Members collect rewards on their own purchases. Create an account and the rewards you have earned are shown in your account, alongside your order history. See My account.
Clean beauty: what we leave out, and why
Clean beauty is not a marketing word for us — it is a formulation standard. These are the ten ingredient families you will never find in a GeonGangMi formula, and the reason each one is excluded.
Which ingredients will I never find in your formulas?
Ten families are permanently excluded from every GeonGangMi formulation:
- Parabens
- SLS / SLES (harsh sulfate surfactants)
- PEG compounds
- Synthetic fragrance
- MIT / CMIT (methylisothiazolinone preservatives)
- Silicones
- Synthetic colourants
- Formaldehyde releasers
- Animal-derived ingredients
- Soap base
If a product page ever lists an ingredient you are unsure about, ask us and we will explain why it is there.
Why does it matter if a product contains these ingredients?
Because skincare is worn on living tissue, all day, often for years. The cumulative effect of the ingredients below is the difference between skin that is calm and resilient and skin that is chronically irritated, sensitised or stripped:
- Parabens — a preservative family associated with hormone-mimicking activity and with contact allergy in sensitive users. Effective preservation can be achieved without them.
- SLS and SLES — powerful sulfate surfactants that lift the skin’s own lipids along with the dirt. The immediate result is the familiar tight, squeaky feel; over time the barrier weakens, which shows as redness, flaking and rebound oiliness.
- PEG compounds — manufacturing can leave trace impurities behind, and PEGs act as penetration enhancers, carrying other ingredients deeper into skin than intended.
- Synthetic fragrance — a single word on a label that can hide dozens of undisclosed molecules, and one of the most common causes of cosmetic contact allergy. It adds nothing to skin health.
- MIT and CMIT — potent sensitisers that many markets now restrict sharply in leave-on products, precisely because reactions build up over repeated exposure.
- Silicones — they give instant slip and a smooth finish, but they form a film that masks texture instead of improving it, and they persist in the environment.
- Synthetic colourants — purely decorative on skin, with irritation risk and no benefit to the formula. Our products take their colour from their ingredients.
- Formaldehyde releasers — preservatives that slowly release formaldehyde over the life of the product; a recognised sensitiser and a substance with long-standing safety concerns.
- Animal-derived ingredients — we do not use them, in formulas or in the supply chain behind them.
- Soap base — alkaline cleansers lift the skin’s acid mantle, which is why soap leaves skin feeling dry and tight. Our cleansers are formulated to respect skin’s natural pH.
If you leave out preservatives, is the product safe?
We do not sell preservative-free water-based products — an unpreserved water-based formula would grow bacteria and mould, and that is far worse for your skin. The point of our standard is that preservation has to be effective and skin-compatible, so we use modern preservative systems that are well tolerated, instead of the families listed above.
Are your products suitable for sensitive skin?
Our formulas avoid the most common triggers of irritation and sensitisation, which makes them suitable for many people with sensitive skin. Every skin is different, though: patch-test a new product on a small area of your inner forearm for 24–48 hours before using it on your face, and introduce one new product at a time. The full ingredient list is on each product page. If you have a diagnosed skin condition or are pregnant or breastfeeding, please check with your doctor or dermatologist.
Do you use animal-derived ingredients, and is your range vegan or cruelty-free?
No animal-derived ingredients are used in our formulations. Where a product carries a specific certification claim, it is shown on the product page and on the pack. If you need documentation for a particular item — for example for a vegan or cruelty-free register — contact us with the product name and we will send you the papers we hold.
How should I use the products, and how should I store them?
Follow the directions on the product page and the pack, and keep the routine simple: cleanse gently, treat, then moisturise and protect. Keep products out of direct sun, close the lids tightly, and respect the period-after-opening symbol on the pack once you start using it. If your skin stings, itches or flakes, stop the product and contact us.
Where our products are made
Where are GeonGangMi products formulated?
Our formulas are developed in Korea, with Korean formulation partners, and produced to a single master formula and specification.
Where are GeonGangMi products manufactured?
Manufacturing takes place in Korea, Thailand, Malaysia and China, and an Indonesian site will follow. Which site produces your item depends on the formula and on where it will be shipped from — the country of manufacture is printed on the pack.
Why do you manufacture in more than one country?
Three reasons: capacity for the formulas that sell fastest, shorter transport distances to the customers we ship to (which is better for freshness and for the environment), and a supply chain that keeps working if one site is interrupted.
Is the product the same if it is made in a different country?
Yes. Every site produces to the same master formula, the same specification and the same packaging artwork; only the printed country of manufacture changes. You may receive a different manufacturing site from one order to the next, and it will behave the same way on your skin.
How can I tell where my product was made?
Look for “Made in …” on the pack or carton, next to the batch code. The batch code lets us trace a unit back to the site and date it was produced — so if you send us your order number and batch code, we can tell you exactly where your item came from.
Will you deliver to Indonesia?
Indonesia will follow as our Indonesian manufacturing site comes on stream. Until then, the destinations we ship to are the ones shown at checkout. If your country is not in the list, write to us through Contact us and we will tell you when it opens.
Buying and delivery across borders
Where do you ship from?
We ship from Malaysia and Hong Kong. Orders are packed and dispatched from our fulfilment centre in Kuala Lumpur, usually within 1–2 business days of payment confirmation, and our Hong Kong operation serves orders across the border as well. Which location fulfils your order depends on your destination and where the stock is held — the delivery estimate shown at checkout is calculated for your address.
Can I order from Malaysia and from Hong Kong?
Yes. Customers in Malaysia are served nationwide by our Malaysian operation, and customers in Hong Kong are served cross-border by our Malaysia and Hong Kong operations. Both are the same brand, the same formulas and the same policies.
How long will my order take?
Peninsular Malaysia
Standard courier delivery after dispatch.
Sabah & Sarawak
Remote areas may need additional transit time.
Hong Kong & international
Cross-border delivery; customs clearance can add time.
Add 1–2 business days for packing and dispatch. The estimate for your own address is shown at checkout.
Who pays customs duties and taxes?
Duties and import taxes, where they apply, are the responsibility of the recipient. They are charged by your local customs authority and are not part of the price you pay us at checkout. Where a shipment is subject to clearance, the courier may contact you for payment before delivering.
How are shipping charges calculated?
Shipping is calculated at checkout based on destination, weight and the courier service selected. The exact amount is always shown before you confirm payment — we never add charges afterwards. Standard delivery is free above the advertised minimum where that promotion applies.
Can I change my delivery address or cancel an order?
Contact us as soon as possible with your order number. Before your parcel is handed to the courier we can usually update the address or cancel the order; once it is in transit, the address can no longer be changed and the normal Returns Policy applies.
Which currencies and payment methods can I use?
The currency shown to you and the payment methods available for your destination are displayed at checkout before you confirm the order. Prices, taxes and shipping are shown in the same currency at that point, so there is no guesswork and no charge added afterwards.
Can I order to a country that is not listed?
We ship to the destinations shown at checkout. If your country is not there yet, tell us through Contact us — customer requests are how we decide which market to open next. Full detail on dispatch, tracking and delivery issues is on the Shipping & Delivery page.
Orders and tracking
When will my order be dispatched?
Orders are packed and dispatched from our fulfilment centre in Kuala Lumpur usually within 1–2 business days of payment confirmation. You will be told as soon as your parcel is on its way.
How do I track my order?
Once your parcel is handed to the courier you receive a tracking number by email and SMS, and you can follow the order at any time from your account. You can also start from Track your order.
My tracking has not updated. What should I do?
Courier scans can lag by 24–48 hours after the parcel is collected, especially for cross-border shipments. If there has been no movement for more than two business days, or the parcel is late, damaged in transit or arrives incomplete, contact us with your order number within 7 days of the expected delivery date so we can investigate with the courier.
Can I get an invoice for my order?
Your order confirmation is emailed to you when you order, and your order history is in your account. If you need a formal invoice or a receipt for customs or company records, contact us with your order number and we will send it.
Returns, refunds and damaged items
Can I return a product?
To be eligible, the item must be unopened and unused, in the same condition you received it and in its original packaging, and it must be exactly the product you purchased. Returns must be started within 7 days from the date of purchase; requests after that may not be accepted. Products bought with discounts or cash vouchers are not returnable. This is set out in full in our Returns Policy.
How do I start a return?
Use the Contact us form and give us your order number with the details of the product you want to return. Our customer support team will confirm whether it qualifies and guide you through the process, including where to send it.
Who pays for return shipping?
The customer bears the return shipping fee. Send returns by a tracked service — we cannot refund a parcel that does not reach us. If you are returning from outside Malaysia or Hong Kong, contact us first and we will tell you where the item should go.
How and when will I be refunded?
All returned items are inspected, and we may refuse a refund if they do not meet the return criteria. Approved refunds are processed to the original method of payment unless we agree otherwise, and you should allow up to 30 days for the amount to appear in your account. A returned product is refunded at 70% of the purchase price. Import duties or taxes you have already paid to your own customs authority are outside our control and cannot be refunded by us.
My product arrived damaged or defective. What now?
Contact us within 3 days of receiving the product, with photos and a detailed description of the issue. Our customer support team will decide whether to replace the damaged or defective item or refund it. Please keep the packaging until the case is closed.
What if I receive the wrong item or something is missing?
Contact us within 7 days with your order number and a photo of what arrived, and we will put it right. Nothing leaves our fulfilment centre intentionally short — if an item is missing from your parcel we want to know so we can check the packing record and trace the shipment.
